But before leaving, they still need to answer several practical questions:

  • Will a secure space actually be available when I arrive?

  • Will my bike still be there when I return?

  • Can I secure the frame, wheels, battery and accessories?

  • Where can I leave my helmet and personal belongings?

  • Can I safely recharge my e-bike?

When those questions remain unanswered, many potential cycling trips never begin.

Transportation planning frequently concentrates on movement: bicycle lanes, trails, intersections, vehicles and public transit connections.

But every trip must end somewhere. At that destination, cyclists need secure parking, predictable access and, increasingly, safe e-bike charging.

Velovoute and Bike Oasis provide the physical and digital infrastructure required to complete that journey.

HOW ACTIVATED MOBILITY WORKS

Activated Mobility™ is built on a profit-sharing model rather than a cost-sharing model.

Activated Mobility™ replaces ongoing cost-sharing with a profit-sharing model that allows infrastructure owners, operators and platform partners to benefit from the value created. Through Bike Oasis, it combines secure parking, real-time availability, reservations, smart access, charging and automated payments. Property owners simply define their policies, services and rates.

Each destination icon shows the services offered and the number of spaces available in real time. Where smart padlocks are installed, users can reserve a secure space before travelling. The result is connected, measurable and revenue-generating bicycle infrastructure.

1. Locate

Users identify a secure participating destination through the Bike Oasis mobile application. They can view the location, available services, operating conditions and applicable rates.

2. Reserve

When Velovoute parking spaces are equipped with smart padlocks, users can view real-time availability and reserve a specific space through the Bike Oasis app before beginning their trip. This ensures that a secure parking space will be waiting for them when they arrive.

3. Access

The user opens the designated secure space using the Bike Oasis application. Standard Velovoute configurations can also be deployed without the application, allowing users to secure their bicycles with their own locks.

4. Secure and Charge

Each destination displayed in the Bike Oasis app is identified by an icon that indicates the services available at that location, such as secure parking, e-bike charging or bicycle rentals. The icon also displays the number of parking spaces currently available, updated in real time, so users can confirm availability before travelling to the destination.

5. Manage

Bike Oasis automatically manages user access, reservations, subscriptions and payments where applicable. Property owners or operators simply define their access policies, user eligibility, service conditions and applicable rates through the centralized administration platform.
